100% Reclaimed Teak Bowl from Indonesia, hand-painted by Kim Grannis. Old growth teak wood has many uses. Flooring, tiles, siding and many high-end design uses. These bowls come from the root system of these old trees. The Indonesians who create these bowls like to utilize every part of the trees and let no part go to waste.
Kim Grannis paints each bowl with a unique palate of colors that she painstakingly lays out in these incredible patterns.
These are always different and special gifts I've given these to my loved ones for birthdays and holidays. I'm very happy to share this special artist with you!

Living within a few dozen feet of the sea in Ocean Beach, local artist Kim Grannis started to focus on her artistic medium while under the Covid 19 lockdown in 2020.
It was during this time that Kim took stock of the world around her and realized that the isolation was a lonely time and she needed to share some positivity with her friends and neighbors.
She started painting on rocks and leaving them outside of her friends homes as a way to brighten up their days and to let them know someone was thinking about them.
This simple gesture helped so many get through this extremely tough time that it inspired her to create more art throughout her community.
