The San Diego underground has always been deep into fins and alternative concepts. One of those guys is Jeff Grennan who was riding these self designed fins for years and years. We all used to trip on them because they’re looked like little single fin templates. Jeff’s surfing is lights out so we knew there was something to them but people just wernt open to the idea until Skip Frye finally tried them. He had a set on ice for 5-years before he finally put them into one of his bigger boards and was blown away.
Skip got everyone onto these fins and the results were positive and the we’ve since been used on every imaginable board outline you can think of.
If you’re boards are feeling stagnant, change up your fins and search out some new feelings in the surf.
