Skip Frye Mimi Eagle 8’6“ Surfboard 

While Skip Frye designed the OG Eagle in the 1960s, the current design really found its look in the 1980s. This is the blueprint for almost all other gliders, as nobody but Skip was making a board like this until people started trying their hand at them in the 2000’s

Yes, there were longboards, speed shapes and guns(See Cojo Guns Redfin). 

Skip built thisboard specifically to connect sections at the weak, but fun Sunset Cliffs, PB Cove and the Tourmaline reefs. This was the birth of the design that would go on to be refined over the decades, post shortboard revolution.

So here we are 60 years later. This is THE glider. All others pale in comparison.
