    Skip Frye designed the Eagle in the 1960s but the current design really found its look in the 1980s. This is the blueprint for almost all other gliders as nobody was making a board like this until the 1990s.

    Yes, there were longboards, speed shapes and guns(See Cojo Guns Redfin). 

    Skip built a board specifically designed to connect sections at the weak, but fun PB Cove and Tourmaline reefs. This was the birth of the design that would go on to be refined over the decades, post shortboard revolution.

    So here we are 60 years later. This is THE glider. All others pale in comparison.
