8’ K-Model by Skip Frye

This board was made for a long time Pacific Beach Local who has been riding a Kmodel since its inception. This one he got about 10 years ago and just never rode much. His intention was to give it Patrick Phillips who he was related to through a previous marriage. But just a few weeks ago, Patrick passed away while surfing Teahupoo in Tahiti.

The owner asked me if we could sell it so he could donate the money to Patricks family. I told him I would and I’ll donate my fee as well. So all proceeds from this board are going to help Patrick’s widow and children.

The Board:

The K-model is one of Skips best in good waves. It’s tail is more reminiscent of something Rusty woukd make for  Occy. One of of mine from 1992 Skip wrote “The long and Short of it.” Basically referring to it as a king shortboard. Great for barrels and speed runs in waves of consequence.
