Michael Miller 7'7"" Quad Egg

Description:

This 7'7" Quad egg with dark wood wedge stringer is off the chain. I asked Mitch King, the glasser at Custom Surf Glass, to do something totally original. He nailed it for sure.

This design was invented by Skip Frye in 1968 and has proven itself in waves of all shapes and sizes. The quad option is a spicy one and gives you the chance to experiment with different options that you can dial it in to your liking.

Glass:

The boards is glassed with a 6+6 deck and 6 oz bottom with patch by the fin plugs for added strength. This is a wet-sanded gloss coat, or a "Satin" finish. This gives you the added strength of a gloss but without the high-shine and "slippery in the hands" feeling. It also features a leash loop and a wedge dark wood stinger for added soul and nice flex in the tail. Board was glassed at Custom Surf Glass, one of Californias finest shops featuring the glasswork of our dear friend, Mitch King.

Color:

Custom color Resin tint on bottom and rails featuring a Larry Crow pin-line on the deck side. Clear deck.

Fins:

This is a proper quad built for speed. Used the Grennan quad set or whatever your preference is.

About Michael Miller:

"I started working around surfboards in 1998 at Joe Roper Surfboard Repairs. There, I learned all of the basics of surfboard construction from start to finish. After Ropers, I worked for Chris Christenson of Christenson Surfboards for five years as a laminator and production shaping. At Christenson's, I was able tune in my shaping and glassing skills to a higher level and with the close proximity of our complex, I was fortunate enough to be able to become friends with and learn from Skip Frye. I feel like my two biggest influences on my board design have been Chris and Skip and I owe them everything."
