CLUB WINDANSEA 1983

This shirt is infamous in La Jolla.

It was created by the legendary Surfer and Vietnam Veteran, Jeffrey Junkins (JLJ). Legend goes, JLJ was the acting President of The Windansea Surf Club and was tired of what he called "Club politics" and quit. Not only as President, but he quit the Club entirely (You can see the clipping from Surfer Mag in the gallery).

Soon after quitting he created this iconic tee-shirt, The Club Windansea tee as a middle finger to the Club. So for all of you who love Windansea, this shirt is for you.

Whats the grenade represent you ask? Well thats because JLJ could, and would, "go-off" at anytime.

Besides serving five Tours of Duty in Vietnam, Jeff was also the Man behind La Jolla Surf Systems Surf Shop. You may remember the ad, "Proofs in the Pudding" That featured JLJ, Bessell, Stussy, Bird and Bill Caster.
