John Durant and I crossed paths in Pacific Beach all throught the 80's-90's but got to be friends somewhere in the 2000's. His eye and imagery captured some of the magic around the beach area as I was growing up. In later years, I've been a fan of his article in The Surfers Journal and sharing stories about the shared history and deep roots of the San Diego surfing community. I hope you enjoy these beautiful and rare glimpses of San Diego and some of its shaping icons.
