  • True Ames 8.5 Skip Frye Fin

SKIP FRYE 8.5" By True Ames

Skip Frye is as much of a "Fin Guy" as he is a surfboard shaper. Ever since his first pro-model by G&S in 1966 that featured a cut down fin, Skip has remained committed to honing his fin templates. Straight forward, clean lines, and classic curves are the name of the game here.

Frye is an iconic figure, not only in San Diego surf culture, but globally as well. His good nature and spirit of aloha is what separates Skip from all others. He's well known for his silky smooth style as well as his innovative and unique designs.

So "Keep it Clean" and pursue Skips 60 years of foil knowledge by trying one of his incredible fins.

    • Slight / minimal rake and medium flex
    • Can be used as a single fin or also works great in a 2+1
    • Pairs well with mid-lengths, thinner planing-type boards, or shapes that rely on pinched rails or long rail lines to do the heavy lifting
    • Solid fiberglass construction, flat matte finish
    • *Please note the 9.25" template has the tab / screw + plate in front
