Roy Sanchez 5'8" Fish

Roy Sanchez has been making some of San Diegos finest surfboards for the past 40 years. From his own brand back in the 80's, Pacific Wave Craft, to making boards for some of the biggest names in surfing. Global brands like Rusty, Bing, CI, Christenson and more. Chances are you've had a favorite board that Roy shaped for you and you didn't even know it.

This past year Stevie Lis tagged Roy to be his shaper for the Lis Designs program which says a lot about Roy’s skills.

This grouping of boards is from Roy’s “Premium Series”- these feature high end builds and custom “everything” all the way to his hand-foiled marine ply fins. These are head and shoulder above what he produces for his basic shop boards. Roy normally builds all his boards start to finish, but this batch was glassed by Shoreline. 

As all San Diego fish should have, a deep single concave runs from the midpoint through the fins. The rails are 70/30 soft to hard the last 12 inches off the tail.
