Hobie Phil Edwards Model 9’4”

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the legends of our sport hadn’t quite yet been re-recorded by the surfing masses. Many had fallen out of surfing and were boat building and just living in obscurity. Phil and Hobie connected in 1990 to reissue a couple classics from Phil. 
surfing was knee deep in modern tri-fins and stilL very much revolving around the pro tour and Tom Curren’s comeback to the ASP. 
in the same issue as Reed Brazil ads and OP hydrolight ads was a single page ad featuring surfings first professional surfer and first to surf Pipeline: Phil Edwards. 
This set the tone for suture reissues from Greg Noll and may others. 
Thos board is one of those from the OG run shaped by Phil. I have a 10’2” and I love it. Theres something about having a board from the guy who set the table for all That followed him. Comes with the insane find as well. 

Boards in excellent shape. some suntanning on deck. Foams still nice and white on bottom
