Michael Miller 10'6" Drifter

Description:

This 10'6" Drifter features Skip Frye's famous bottom contours of a long single concave that feeds into a double barrel concave in the latter portion of the board to slight "vee" off the tail for better speed and turning. The model is based off of Skips 1992-93 model called the "Fish Simmons." This design has proven itself to be one of the fastest and best turning "Big Board" designs available. 

Glass:

The boards is glassed with a 6+6 deck and 6 oz bottom with patch by the fin plugs for added strength. This is a wet-sanded gloss coat, or a "Satin" finish. This gives you the added strength of a gloss but without the high-shine and "slippery in the hands" feeling. It also features a leash loop and a wedge dark wood stinger for added soul and nice flex in the tail. Board was glassed at Custom Surf Glass, one of Californias finest shops featuring the glasswork of our dear friend, Mitch King.

We recommend the the Grennan, tri-fin set from NVS or this or Skip Frye Medium Fins. But you're the boss, try some keels or a twin plus nub for best results.

About Michael Miller:

"I started working around surfboards in 1998 at Joe Roper Surfboard Repairs. There, I learned all of the basics of surfboard construction from start to finish. After Ropers, I worked for Chris Christenson of Christenson Surfboards for five years as a laminator and production shaping. At Christenson's, I was able tune in my shaping and glassing skills to a higher level and with the close proximity of our complex, I was fortunate enough to be able to become friends with and learn from Skip Frye. I feel like my two biggest influences on my board design have been Chris and Skip and I owe them everything."
