After the glory of the 1960s, the 70's were full of change for everyone. Surfboards, politics and the Vietnam War had everyone in a state of flux. Skip was no different. He found himself shaping boards for a few dollars each behind Select Surf Shop. This era he refers to as his "Ghetto Days."
